Hi! I’m Susan

I am a naturopathic doctor seeing patients in the west end of Toronto, with virtual appointments available across Ontario. I am also pleased to offer postpartum doula services through Your Downtown Doula, supporting families during the postpartum period with compassionate, evidence-informed care.

I believe the best healthcare happens when clinicians take the time to truly know the person in front of them. Building meaningful connections with my patients allows me to make recommendations that are realistic, relevant, and sustainable. My practice is collaborative and patient-centred - we work together to discover what will genuinely work for you, within the context of your life.

I practice from an evidence-based perspective, with treatment plans that may include nutrition and lifestyle counselling, acupuncture, functional lab testing, and targeted supplementation. I have a special interest in hormone and reproductive health (including menstrual concerns, preconception, and pregnancy), mental health/stress management, and digestive health. Through my postpartum doula work, I also support families as they navigate recovery, infant feeding, and the emotional and physical transitions of early parenthood.

My educational background includes a Bachelor of Science from Bishop’s University, with a major in Biology and a minor in Psychology, and a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine degree from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (2018). During my training, I gained additional experience on the mental health focus shift at the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic and working with the LGBTQ+ community at Sherbourne Health Centre. This foundation shaped my holistic approach to care, one that considers the interconnectedness of mind, body, emotions, and lived experience.

I strive to create an inclusive, supportive, and non-judgmental environment, where patients feel safe to be themselves and supported in their health goals. I believe that when people invest in their wellbeing, they are better able to live rich, fulfilling, and resilient lives.

When I’m not seeing patients, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, traveling, listening to music, and walking my dogs.

I am currently accepting new patients virtually as well as in-person at Balanced Mind & Wellness (Bloor West in the Kingsway Village).
